Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet

Would A Loving God Send People To Hell?

“And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world
and preach the gospel to every creature.
He who believes and is baptized will be saved;
but he who does not believe will be condemned.’”
Mark 16:15-16

So, would a good and loving God send people to hell?

The answer is: not before he gave himself to take their judgment, to be tortured and to be crucified in their place, to descend into hell IN THEIR PLACE, and rise from the dead promising the same resurrection to those believing in him.

“For God so LOVED the world
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in him should NOT perish
but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world
to condemn the world, but that the world
THROUGH HIM MIGHT BE SAVED.”
John 3:16-17

God provided the solution for the lost state of mankind. He sacrifices himself for them. All they have to do is turn to him and receive the free gift of eternal life. Jesus Christ was crucified between two thieves. The two represent mankind. One scorned him, and one turned to him and received him. One was lost, one was saved.

“For everyone practicing evil hates the light
and does not come to the light,
lest his deeds should be exposed.”
John 3:20

Come. Let your deeds be exposed. We are ALL sinners. All believers have come to him and have allowed the light to expose their deeds. That’s the first step in salvation – humility, the death of pride. The rest is forgiveness, mercy, peace, and the love of God.
