The Terrible Plight Of The Blinded Mind

“But even if our Gospel is veiled,
it is veiled to those who are perishing,
whose minds the god of this age has blinded;”
2nd Corinthians 4:3-4
I’ve meditated deeply trying to understand why people would choose NOT to surrender their lives to Christ. That’s a hard one for me, and my considerable mulling it over has only rendered one conclusion, and that is that they’ve been totally deceived. “The god of this age” has blinded their minds.
This passage in Corinthians answers the question, and that provides the information needed in order to intercede for them. In fact, one of the prayers I use in intercession is Luke 4:18 which prays that sight be restored to the blind. That passage isn’t speaking of physical blindness, but is a prayer that those spiritually blind be ENABLED to see. Like Paul on the road to Damascus. It took knocking him off his horse, but he ended up a believer and one of the greatest men to ever walk the face of the earth.
If you’re interceding for someone who is blinded, take a look at Luke 4:18 then pray it. It’s the perfect prayer.
The words of Jesus:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to preach the gospel to the poor;
he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind;
to set at liberty those who are oppressed;
Luke 4:18
