Scoffing Will Come To An End

“…knowing this first,
that scoffers will come in the last days,
walking according to their own lusts, and saying,
‘Where is the promise of his coming?’”
2nd Peter 3:3-4
It’s amazing that this Scripture, written 2,000 years ago, accurately prophesied what the conditions would be like in “the last days.” To say our generation is a generation of “scoffers” is an understatement. They scoff at everything God has said. Not only do they scoff at the idea of creation, they have the audacity to forbid that the truth of creation be taught in our schools. Not only do they scoff at the criminality of abortion, but they enact laws protecting the “right” to murder children. They scoff at the teaching about the flood of Noah, when God put an end to the evil of that day. And they scoff loudly at the coming of Jesus Christ for his believers in the pre-trib Rapture.
If you’re a believer in the Word of God, you’re going to be scoffed at.
“Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved,
what manner of persons ought you to be
in holy conduct and godliness,
looking for and hastening the coming
of the day of God, because of which
the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire,
and the elements will melt with fervent heat?”
2nd Peter 3:11-12
But scoffing will be ended when this world and all the evil in it will be destroyed, not by water this time but by fire. Note the proliferation of nuclear armaments all over the world. They’re not creating nuclear bombs for nothing – little do they know that these very armaments will bring this world to its final judgment, when all scoffers will have no more to scoff at.
The Word of God is the truth. Those who reject it – will be lost. Those who accept it will be scoffed at. Just as Jesus Christ was.
