Job Knew There Is Life After Death

From The Oldest Book In The Bible:
“For I know that my Redeemer lives
and he shall stand at last on the earth.
And after my skin is destroyed, this I know,
that in my flesh I shall see God,
whom I shall see for myself,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!”
Job 19:25-27
This was written thousands of years ago – Job is believed to be the oldest book of the Bible. So even before “the Law and the Prophets,” what we now call the “Old Testament,” Job knew there is life after death and that he was saved by faith in the Redeemer.
Some religions teach that when you die you have no consciousness until the resurrection. That is a false teaching. The apostle Paul said “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2nd Corinthians 5:8). I don’t think anyone would be “well pleased” to be laying in a grave unconscious. No, when we leave the body we are PRESENT WITH the Lord.
Believer, be comforted if you have lost a believing loved one, that loved one is ALIVE in the place we call heaven. And there is coming a great reunion, never again to experience grief. The joy of heaven is forever.
