He Knows Exactly What He Is Doing In You

“For I know the thoughts that I think
toward you, says the Lord,
thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11
The Lord is keenly aware of the trials and tribulations believers endure as they walk this journey out. He has promised us that he will never, ever, leave us nor forsake us. Sometimes we feel forsaken when help or comfort doesn’t come right away. During those times he is doing a work in our hearts, working out qualities in us that will shine for all eternity.
There is purpose in our suffering and when we have emerged from it, we will be able to comfort and encourage others in their suffering.
“Blessed be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort
those who are in any trouble,
with the comfort with which
we ourselves are comforted by God.”
2nd Corinthians 1:3-4
If you went to a doctor with serious symptoms, you’d take advantage of whatever he said you had to go through in order to come to health. You’d take the medicine or submit to surgery, whatever was needed you’d do even if you knew it would be unpleasant. Jesus Christ is the great physician. Surrender to his work in your life, he is working out his specific plan for you and when the work is finished, you will be astounded at all he is able to do as long as you don’t resist him. Sometimes it will be painful, but trust that he knows exactly what he is doing, and that his purpose for you is glorious.
